Based in the Ruhr region, MEDION is one of the largest distributors of electronic consumer products. They design, assemble and distribute items not only through their own online store. Notable partners include ALDI, Tchibo and many more.

After the development of the online marketplace ALDI Nord by Medion AG, a connection between the new marketplace and Medion’s internal database system was required. We, i-ways sales solutions GmbH, were commissioned to ensure optimal development and integration. The goal of the project was to develop a data interface between ALDI Nord and SAP in order to transport data on orders and status messages, as well as order and item information between these two platforms. We also developed a suitable user interface, which was linked to the backend. This ensured clear management and access to the data. An additional setup of user and rights management ensures a high level of security.

A central interface is existential for the expansion of business connections, and so not only was the goal of developing an interface between the two given systems met, but the development also took into account that digital marketplaces opened up in the future could be integrated quickly and efficiently.
