“Spendenbrücke Ukraine” is a first partner of eBay, which is dedicated to supporting needy people affected by the Ukrainian war and is committed to this project.
Analogies to the former Berlin-Tempelhof airlift are not only evident in the name. The collection point is also located in Berlin Tempelhof Airport, Hangar 1.

With the aim of helping Ukrainian refugees in the refugee crisis, we have created a platform together with our partner eBay on which aid organizations can create needs lists for products. These lists include actual used and needed products from all areas of daily life: baby items, clothing, hygiene products and many other categories. On the other hand, these very products can either be donated (under certain templates) from one’s own stock – with a free shipping label from eBay – or purchased directly through eBay and shipped to the collection point for free.

eBay’s existing marketplace does not offer the possibility to map such a donation platform with comprehensive functionalities. Nevertheless, eBay wanted to contribute to the humanitarian crisis and support the people in Ukraine. After a joint conception phase, i-ways was commissioned to build a new platform.

On the marketplace we built, aid organizations can upload lists of needed products. These products are assigned to products on the eBay marketplace and displayed on the platform https://ebay.spendensenden.de/ via an interface solution. On the platform, a third party can then buy or send exactly those products that are really needed.

Already within the first 3 months, almost 200 tons of relief goods could be sent to Ukraine. The number has been rising steadily to date.
